Joshua Tree

This was my first camping trip for 2012. I jumped on the opportunity to tag along with my cousin & his friends and explore this amazing desert playground. There are random boulders that pop out of the ground randomly and all surrounding cacti spaced accordingly along the desert ground. It’s like someone laid out a grid on how each joshua tree should be a certain distance from each other. It would be a bad idea to go exploring during the night time let alone run through the desert without a flashlight… Some of these cactus have needles more than an inch long. ouch. Night time is just as beautiful as day. As darkness falls the stars lit up the night sky which also calls for a S’more session sitting next to our campfire. Moments like these little getaway trips is what makes me appreciate life even more.

Iphone shot of the day – Glacier Point . Yosemite, CA

I found this secluded ledge from the overcrowded tourist look out at glacier point. I felt relatively safe hanging my feet near the ledge and managed to calm myself into a meditative state above on of the most beautiful national parks in the world.

Iphone shot of the day | Haleakala Crater, Maui

A photographer and the moon. It was past sunset on top the Haleakala Crater. Very cold and very windy. I shot this through the windshield of our rental car and was amazing of the deep colors we witnessed about 30 minutes passed sunset.

Photo of the Day | Vernall Falls, Yosemite

Yosemite Valley will always have a place in my heart. A quick hike up to Vernall Falls just before sunset and managed to capture the sun breaking around the corner. I love the mist from the bottom of falls that reflect from the sun.

Bali, Indonesia

Bali was an unexpected spiritual journey. Once we boarded off the plane into Ngurah Rai Airport, you get a whiff of the traditional balinese incense that burn daily. This is their ritual and represents a balinese hindu prayer. I’ll never forget this smell as it brings a sense of the simplicity you can find on this island.

I was reminded of how the vibe is similar to hawaii, everyone is laid back and it has that island feeling. Where you don’t need much in life because everything is already there provided to you. The fact that you live on probably one of the most beautiful places on earth. What more can you ask for?

Once you get passed the hustle and bustle of taxi cab drivers offering you rides, the crazy traffic and motor bikes barely grazing your car on the highway, you get a sense of the island’s landscape surrounded by rice fields, lush colors, stonework, and volcanic mountain. I guess it’s something expected since this island nearly touches the earth’s equator.

Would I ever come back again? The answer is definitely yes. Once you figure out how to get around on a motorbike, the possibilities of exploring on your own are endless. You have soo many options that you can probably explore bali for a month or two. Thats not limiting yourself to Bali because Indonesia consists of 15,000 or more islands. Definitely lots of exploring to do!

Hope you enjoy the photo’s I was able to capture along this amazing journey!
